Brahman sabha Dombivli is one of the premiere social organizations in the town and is the first Public charitable Trust of Dombivli, founded in 1935. Brahman sabha began it's activities on 7th Oct 1935 (Dussera Day) under leadership of Late S.V.alias Dadasaheb Datar with membership of 65. Along with Late Shri Shankar Vaman Datar, Late Shri. Narayan Vasudeo Gore, Late Shri Tryambak Ramkrishna Gadgil, Late Shri. Keshav Vishvnath Kanitkar, Late Shri. Ganesh Shankar Patwardhan.

were the founders of Brahman Sabha. Brahman Sabha later on purchased the land from Late N.C. Bhagwat and constructed its first premises (Today it has 4flr ultramodern Bld at the same place.) Subsequently it expanded its premises to two rooms in 1955 with the help of interest free loan & donation given by Late Vishwanath Moreshwar Alias Bapusaheb Pendase and loan from Late Govind Ramchandra Karve. Subsequently ,expansion at ground flr. (1956-58), First flr. (1968-69) & second flr. (1988-90) was possible because of generous donations from members. The old premises were demolished in 2008 and 4flr. New ultramodern premises constructed at the same place were handed over to people at large on 13June 2012.

Policies

Brahmansabha began its activities in Religious, Social & Cultural fields and over time has expanded it's activities to encompass various fields e.g., social, educational, health, women empowerment, library, sports, cultural & credit society etc. with noticeable membership of about 2500.

Brahman Sabha is serving various social stratas irrespective of caste, creed & religion, since its birth and is a towerning example of ideal & active NGO.

Infrastructure

Brahman sabha owns the beautiful 4flr.premises on Tilak road Dombivli East. [Old premises recently reconstructed & inaugurated in June 2012.] The social halls are available for various functions e.g. marriages, thread ceremony, naming & birthday ceremonies, annual meetings & get togethers, academic & other seminars, exhibitions etc.

Social Aspect

Helping students with books & school fees; circulating library with more than 5000 books; ecognizing yeoman services rendered by Doctors by way of awards like Dhanvantari, Bhishagwarya & Arogyadeep and organizing various seminars/lectures & exhibitions related to health & medicine; marriage bureau with more than 2500 entries; empowering women by way of lectures, seminars, workshops etc.; holding state level contract Bridge, tournaments; supporting credit activities through Kautilya co-op. credit society are same of are important social activities undertaken by Brahman Sabha, Dombivli.
